Digital Resume Structures
Digital Resume basically means that your resume is available online but it is more than having a digital or PDF copy of your resume. A digital resume can include graphs, videos, links to writings, images, projects you have completed and your social media profiles. As the career world changes these resumes are becoming more popular with some companies.

The four digital resume structures are:
- Digital Portfolios - A digitally-created collection of your work. This can include one-page summaries of projects you’ve worked on (with accompanying illustrations or visuals), pictures of your creative work as an artist, videos of presentations and performances, sound recordings of the best parts of your speeches, presentations, or performances—and more. Digital portfolios are often used to show growth in a field over time.
- Visual Resumes - A visual resume takes the traditional resume format and livens it up with illustrations and pictures. While maintaining the content and size limits of a traditional resume, it offers the chance to be more eye-catching with the use of illustrations. This creates an opportunity for artists and photographers to show off their skills, while providing key information about their employment history.
- Social Media - It’s no secret that social media is a key element in communicating with prospective employers, and many sites exist that give job seekers a chance to reach out to wide and diverse audiences. In exchange for access to all kinds of employers, each site has its own limits about what can be posted to the site, and how it can be displayed. Job seekers will want to investigate the formats of each site carefully, making sure they know how to make the most of each.
- Talent Portfolio - This resume format goes beyond the traditional bounds of work-related resumes. Talent portfolios focus much more on the qualities of a job candidate—how they think, their work style preference, how they best learn—to provide a more comprehensive picture of the kind of person the employer would be hiring. This similar to the portfolio you create on Xello with your EDP and the portfolio created in your senior exit project.
